Last November Google released their spam update where a new search ranking algorithm that is aimed to target spammy links. They will be no longer be indexed on Google or the worst-case scenario, removed from the search engine results page. (SERP)
1. Syndicated contents which are contents that are copied from ither websites that doesn’t add value to the website where the user is viewing. Or irrelevant content and links on the page for the purpose of increasing traffic to other pages that has no value to the user. Even if the content is high quality but if it’s irrelevant or has no value, the page will be penalized or eventually be removed from Google search.
2. Doorway pages. Google will search and destroy are doorway pages. What are doorway pages?
Doorway pages as defined by John Mueller, Head of Spam of Google, “are a large collection of pages where keywords are constantly tweaked out in order to rank them higher for specific keywords.”
According to the update Google was not specific about what type or forms of spamming will be penalized. We should be implementing only best practices to make sure we do not violate any Google quality policy on spam. Violating Google quality policy can lead to decrease in search engine ranking or total removal from the SERP.
As a constant reminder always implement the best practices as per the Google Quality Rating and you can never go wrong.
